The Final Countdown

There's been some little confusion with Exams and End of Semester dates. Joaquín and I, we both were told we had another week of classes before final exams in January. But it finally seems class are ending on Friday, 11 January. Exams begin inmediatly the week after, and our subject's exam is on January the 21.
Therefore we are going to adapt our final timetable to these dates and the special conditions of some students programs. First of all you must all clearly realise we have only 5 more classes left. 4 of them before Christmas Holiday (10, 13, 17 and 20 December) and the last one on January 10. So, what is most important of what we are going to state right now is that you have to work really hard these few weeks. I mean, REALLY hard.

Here are you have the specific activities we'll do in each of our remaining five classes of this first semester:

1. Monday 10 December
a) We'll divide students in two groups (maximum of 19 members each). The first one of them will have to prepare their Pre-Final Entry for December 17. Second one will present their proposals on December 20. Studends who are not coming back after Christmas Holiday due to their special University Arrangements should understand their group dates as their Final Proposal Entry.
Division in two Groups is done in order to have enough time to assess you work, comment your progress and give you indications of the work you should develop during holidays in order to build a good Final Entry.
Therefore, the date you are assigned, each one of you should bring all the work developed, from concept panel to models. We suggest you have a look at the Exercise Long Exercise Assignment Entry of this blog, so you can remember all the documents you are going to be asked for. And it would be a good idea that you had already pre-design a comunication strategy for your entry (type of drawing, panels lay out, etc...)
b) After this we'll continue commenting your individual proposals. We remind you that, by this time, you should be concentrated on your Small Scale Stragies.

2. Thursday 13 December
We'll dedicate all the class to comment your project strategies, so as you are able to prepare your Pre-Final Entries for next week.

3. Monday 17 December
Group 1 Pre-Final Entry.
Our idea is to see all your work so we can give you final indications to achieve good results in your Final Entry on January. You must bring your proposal as much developed as you can as as many documents as possible. If there's something you don't bring, for instance a model, a 3d image or the constructive axonometric, we'll not be able to speak about it so you'll have to develop it on your own during the holidays. Risky. We think it's better for you to bring as many documents as you can, even if they are not completed, so we can give you an advice about how the work is being done.

4. Thursday 20 December
Group 2 Pre-Final Entry.
Same comments as for Group 1.

5. Thursday 14 January
(we'll try to start earlier than 12.00 so we have enough time to see all your work)
a)Final Entry.
Each student wil hand in all the documents composing his/her proposal.
Each student will have maximum of 5 minutes to expose a .PPT presentation in front of the whole Unit.
We'll be extremely strict with timing during presentations, so prepare them well and concentrate only in the most important ideas you've developed during the semester.

b) Pre-Final Assessment
We'll tell each one of you if your proposal and  it's development is enough or not for what was expected according different Project Levels. Students who don't achieve the minimum quality or quantity level requested for their Level, may be given the opportunity to complete there proposals until Monday 17 January

+1 Monday 14 January
a)Aditional Documents Entry for uncomplete proposals
b)Final Results

Monday 21 January
Architectural Projects Exam, Levels 3 to 6.

That about it. Very good luck and as said before, work VERY HARD these last weeks.
